This oven baked salmon is a savory and delicious treat. Featuring a seasoned bread crumb topping, this recipe is easy to make. With only 8 ingredients, this baked salmon takes 10 minutes to prep and 10 minutes to bake. Add a spring salad with buttery lettuce and Chugwater Chili Dressing for a colorful, tasty meal.

Salmon is easy to find in most grocery stores and it is an affordable source of protein as well. It is easy to use salmon for a quick seafood meal. This meal can be served for a weeknight dinner or even a formal meal.

Prepping the Savory Salmon Toppings

This savory topping for your baked salmon will help keep the salmon moist as it bakes. It is packed with a slightly sweet but delicious southwestern flavor. To start this savory salmon topping you will need to mix 2 Tbs Dijon mustard, 1 Tbs honey, 2 Tbs melted butter, and 1 teaspoon Chugwater Chili Dip-Dressing mix. Once you have mixed it together you will set it aside.

The next step to creating the topping for the salmon is by combining the crunchy side of the topping. For this you will whisk ¼ cup of Panko breadcrumbs (preferably unflavored), 2 tsp chopped parsley, and 1 teaspoon Chugwater Chili Dip-Dressing mix.

Oven Baking Salmon

Heat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and rub with butter. This helps prevent the salmon from sticking to the pan and helps with clean up. Place 4 pieces of salmon on baking sheet. Next spoon the savory buttery topping on salmon pieces. Make sure it is spread evenly on the tops of the salmon.

Now spoon the seasoned crunchy topping onto the salmon pieces. The buttery topping will help hold the crunchy topping however some of the buttery topping and the crunchy topping may fall onto the pan as it bakes or is moved to the oven.

How Long to Bake Salmon at 450 Degrees

To bake the salmon in the oven at 450 degrees you will need to place it in the oven on a middle rack for 8 - 10 minutes. Salmon is ready to eat when it flakes easily with a fork. If your salmon has skin on the back, gently lift it off the baking sheet with a spatula.
