37th Annual Chugwater’s Chili Cook-off and Roundup

37th Annual Chugwater’s Chili Cook-off and Roundup

We are proud to be sponsors and supporters for our town’s annual chili cook-off and roundup on June 17th, 2023. Held every year on the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend this event is “Wyoming’s Spiciest Hometown Event” that brings in thousands of visitors.

Cooks compete with their chili masterpieces to become Wyoming’s Championship Chili and for the chance to go to nationals in Terlingua, TX. They compete with red chili, green chili, salsa, and a showmanship category where they dress up in fun team outfits and decorate their booths. Once the cooks submit their chilis and salsas to the judges people can go around to sample them and put in their vote for people’s choice.

Not only is there a chili cook-off but there are tons of vendors booth that you can stop by to get some shopping in a support local small businesses. There are even a variety of contests such as a jalapeno eating contest and a bunch of children's games happening throughout the day. There is a car show where people show off a variety of old classic cars and trucks. Three different bands/musicians are scheduled to play throughout the day with music from Jalan Crossland, Jared Jorgenson, and the Ain’t From Here Band.

The day ends with a Ranch Rodeo where teams get to compete for the chance to win cash prizes and it gives the crowd a fun experience watching bronc riding, branding, and much more.

This is a day you will not want to miss out on. If you are in Chugwater stop by and check it out or make a day of it with the family to enjoy great entertainment and family fun.
