Chili Fajita Pasta

Do you love fajitas, pasta and chili flavoring? Well this amazing combination of flavors gives you an amazing Chili Fajita Pasta!!! This easy pasta recipe gives you the flavor of our chili seasoning with a mix of bell peppers, onion, and a creamy cheese sauce. It is easy, delicious, and great for serving a crowd.

Preparing your Ingredients 

The ingredients for this recipe are easy to find in grocery stores. For this pasta recipe you will need to do some prep work by dicing onion, bell peppers, and chicken breast meat. You will want to dice these ingredients in large bite sized chunks. From there you can easily add each ingredient during the different recipe steps.

Step 1: Cook Your Meat

In a large skillet, place 3 chicken breasts diced, add 2 Tbs olive oil, 1 Tbs garlic, and some salt and pepper. Cook chicken until fully cooked. Note you could also use other proteins such as shrimp, beef, or tofu for this Chili Fajita Pasta.

Step 2: Get that Pasta Boiling

In a medium pot boil 2/3 of a box of penne pasta until tender. If you prefer a different pasta shape feel free to use it with this recipe. 

Step 3: Onion and Pepper Time

Once the meat is cooked, take it from pan and add in 1 cup of onion. Cook onion until it starts to become translucent and add in 2 cups of bell peppers. Cook both together for 10 minutes. Now add in the chicken to the onion and bell peppers.

Step 4: Season

Add in 1 1/2 Tbs Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend and mix together. Then add in the 1/2 can of diced tomatoes with green chilies.

Step 5: Add in Your Dairy

Simmer together for 10 minutes then add in 2 1/2 cups heavy cream and 2 cups of pepper jack cheese. Stir until cheese has melted. Add in the cooked penne pasta noodles and stir together.

Step 6: Simmer and Serve

 Let simmer for 15 minutes then serve hot. Now you have an awesome Chili Fajita Pasta to share with your family. This recipe is perfect because it is adaptable to your preferences. You can create a Chicken Fajita Pasta, Shrimp Fajita Pasta, or stick with a Veggie Fajita Pasta.

  • Turn it into a bake by transferring to a baking sheet and covering the top with more pepper jack cheese.

ingredients:

  • 3 Chicken Breasts, diced
  • 2 cups Bell Peppers, any color, diced
  • 1 cup Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1 Tbs Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 can Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
  • 2 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 2/3 box Penne Pasta
  • 2 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 cups Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 Tbs Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend
  • Salt and Pepper

instructions:

How to cook Chili Fajita Pasta

  1. In a large skillet, place diced chicken breasts, olive oil, garlic, and some salt and pepper. Cook chicken until fully cooked.

  6. Simmer together for 10 minutes then add in the cream and pepper jack cheese. Stir until cheese has melted.
  7. Add in the cooked penne pasta noodles and stir together. Let simmer for 15 minutes then serve hot.

Jean, The nice thing about this recipe is that there is the option to substitute the chicken out for other meats and proteins. It is versatile for your preferences and food sensitivities.

Sounds good. Will have to make this for Greg with shrimp since he can’t have chicken. Either way, it sounds really good.
