Spicy Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

This spicy cream cheese sausage ball recipe is a quick and easy recipe to serve at your next party or as a side dish to your favorite chili or soup. Our chili seasoning is added to sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheese, Bisquick™, and diced tomatoes with green chilies to create an explosion of flavor for your taste buds.

As fall and winter approach it is great to find a recipe that you can serve at sports watch parties, holiday get-togethers, or with your favorite chili or soup on a cold day. 

Our spicy cream cheese sausage ball recipe is one of those tasty, filling, and delicious comfort food recipes that can be served in a variety of ways. We use our chili seasoning to add some spice to this sausage ball recipe. Plus if you want to you can make these sausage balls ahead of time, freeze them, and serve them when you need to. This is an easy recipe that must be added to your recipe list.

How to Make the Spicy Cream Cheese Sausage Ball Dough 

In a large mixing bowl combine 1 pound hot sausage, 8 ounces cream cheese that has been softened, 10 ounces diced tomatoes with green chilies, 1 ½ cups Bisquick™, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup shredded Monterey cheese, and 2 tablespoons Chugwater Chili Seasoning (note if you want it extra spicy you can use our Hot Chili Seasoninginstead of our original blend.)

Mix until ingredients become a dough. You can do this by mixing with a spatula, your hands, or an electric mixer with a dough attachment. 

Make sure all ingredients are blended well. 

Note: If you want to make these gluten free you can use a gluten free Bisquick™ instead of regular Bisquick™.

Making the Sausage Balls 

Take the sausage dough and roll it into about 1-inch-sized balls. You can make these sausage balls in whatever size you wish. If they are larger they will take longer to cook. 

Place on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray or lined with parchment or foil.  Lining your baking sheet helps with clean up.

Baking the Spicy Cream Cheese Sausage Balls 

Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes or until the sausage balls become golden brown on top.
