How to Season Black Beans
In a medium pot sauté ¼ cup diced onion, a diced jalapeno (if you are not into spicy foods, you can reduce how much jalapeno you add-in). Cook until the onion becomes translucent.
Then add in 16 ounces of black beans (undrained), ¼ cup chopped cilantro, 2 tablespoons water, and 2 tablespoons of Chugwater Chili Seasoning or if you like is spicier the Chugwater Chili Hot Chili Seasoning. Stir together until combined.
If you are not a fan of cilantro you can leave it out of this recipe if you want. You can also add more if you wish. One fun fact about this recipe is it is customizable for your taste preferences.
Cooking Seasoned Black Beans
Simmer on medium heat for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally. If you know you will need extra time before you are ready to serve you can turn them down to a simmer on low heat to add more time. Now you are ready to serve these flavorful black beans.
