Local Authors:
Carol Eckhardt
Carol lives here in Chugwater and has written a wonderful series called the Bear Valley series. She has even lived on her own homestead for years. The Bear Valley series starts with the book Anna's Place about Anna Royer and her daughter who once left Wyoming but find themselves drawn to return. The next book in the series is called Homing it covers how Anna and her daughter leave their normal lives to restore an old homestead. The last book is called Echoes which covers the struggles of homesteading that the girls face and how they can be connected to the past homesteaders with their experiences. If you like the tales of homesteading in Wyoming, you should try this series out.
Wyoming History:
Almost Pioneers
Almost Pioneers is about a couple who homesteads out to Wyoming. They deal with the struggles of homesteading including rattlesnakes, building a dugout, and much more. Soon they gain neighbors the Smiths who help grow their little community. Take a trip through the experiences of the Smith family on the Wyoming plains and how they built a home and community where nothing had existed before. These homesteads were created around the Chugwater area.
