Crispy Sweet Chili Chicken Tenders

This crispy sweet chili chicken tender recipe is a fun combination of sweet with a little bit of spicy. Seasoned with our chili seasoning and then glazed with our sweet red pepper jelly these chicken tenders will become a fun new meal.

Chicken tenders are a classic recipe that most of us grew up eating. It is a fun meal that both kids and adults enjoy. There are so many ways that you can enjoy or make chicken tenders from tossing them in sauces to changing up the breading or batter on them. They give you a good amount of protein and are easy to make. 

Our crispy sweet chili chicken tenders are a fun new twist on the classic chicken tender. We add a chili-seasoned cornflake breading to chicken tenders and then glaze them with our sweet red pepper jelly. This creates a fun explosion of sweet and spicy on the traditional chicken tender recipes. They are a lower-calorie treat that can be added to your meal-prepping plans.

Breading the Chicken Tenders 

Season a pound of thawed chicken tenders with 1 tablespoon of Chugwater Chili Seasoning or Chugwater Chili Hot Chili Seasoning if you want them spicier.

In a small bowl beat 2 eggs with ½ cup milk. 

Crush 2 cups of plain cornflakes then season with 2 tablespoons of Chugwater Chili Seasoning. You can crush them in a food processor or place the cornflakes in a sealable storage bag and crush them with a rolling pin or your hands. Place in a shallow bowl.

Now it is time to coat the chicken tenders. 

Take a chicken tender and place it in the egg mixture, then press it into the seasoned cornflakes. Make sure you get both sides coated. Repeat until all the chicken is coated.

Cooking the Sweet Chili Chicken Tenders

Baking Option:

Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. 

To get them crispy spray with olive oil.

Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes or until they are golden and cooked through. You can test this by cutting into one of the chicken tenders to see if the middle is pink or not.

Glazing with the Red Pepper Jelly 

Heat up 1 cup of Chugwater Chili Red Pepper Jelly in a bowl in the microwave or small saucepan until it turns into a thinner consistency. 

Pour the red pepper jelly over the chicken tenders until they are glazed.

Frying Option: 

Fry the coated chicken tenders in heated oil until they are golden and cooked through. You can test this by cutting into one of the chicken tenders to see if the middle is pink or not.

Air Fryer Option:
