Bison Taco Pasta Bake

This bison taco pasta bake is a easy to make casserole dish that the family will enjoy. Our chili seasoning adds a wonderful taco flavor to the ground bison meat, vegetables, and pasta in this recipe. It is a quick recipe that can be made ahead of time and reheated or the day you serve it.

Pasta bakes are a fun way to feed a small crowd, have leftovers, or if you just want something new and filling to eat. There are so many different types of pasta bakes you can make from alfredo-based bakes to stuffed pasta bakes. They are a great way to prepare a meal ahead of time and feed many. You can also customize them to your taste preferences or make new creations. 

This taco pasta bake adds a fun twist to a traditional meat sauce-based pasta bake. We add chili seasoned bison meat to black beans, tomatoes, salsa, and bell peppers to make a flavorful combination of ingredients. This is a fun a colorful pasta dish with the different ingredients in it and is pretty healthy too. It will quickly become a new kitchen favorite.

Cooking and Seasoning Ground Bison Meat 

In a large skillet brown up 1 pound ground bison.

Add in the diced onion and cook until onion is translucent.

Season with the 2 tablespoons of Chugwater Chili Seasoning. If you like it spicier you can use the Chugwater Chili Hot Chili Seasoning. Stir until meat is coated in the chili seasoning. 

Adding in the Vegetables and Beans 

Add in 15 ounces black beans that are drained, 15 ounces diced tomatoes with green chilies, ¾ cup salsa, and 1 diced bell pepper. If you want more sauce in the bake you can always add in ½ a can of tomato sauce.

Adding in the Pasta 

Stir in the 6 ounces cooked rotini noodles. If you prefer whole grain noodles or gluten free you can use them in this recipe or if you prefer a different shape such as penne, bowtie or elbow noodles you can also use those as well.

Baking the Taco Pasta Bake 

Place in a baking dish then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Add ½ cup shredded cheese either fiesta blend or cheddar and bake for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.

How to Serve Bison Taco Pasta Bake 

This is a fun bison recipe that can be cooked anytime of the year. It is a great dish to bring to potlucks, parties, gatherings, dances, and so much more. You can also make this dish ahead of time, put it in the freezer or refrigerator then cook it in the oven. This bison pasta bake can be served with fruit, salad, bread, and or your favorite dessert.
