Crunchy Tacos

This easy crunchy taco recipe features taco meat seasoned with our chili seasoning. It is a quick and easy meal to put together on a busy schedule.

Tacos are a fun treat to have any day of the week. Packed with nutritional value, tacos can be customized to your taste preferences. The biggest thing you need for a taco is the taco meat then you just have to add a shell and toppings. We like to season our taco meat with our chili seasoning. Our chili seasoning creates a great blend of flavors for tacos without being overly spicy.

We also enjoy easy taco recipes for our busy schedules. We like a taco recipe that can be created in 30 minutes or less and involves few ingredients. This easy taco recipe is just the solution.

What Ingredients Do I Need?

  • 2 lbs. ground beef, 90% lean
  • 3 tablespoons Chugwater Chili Gourmet Chili Blend 
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 package shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 package crunchy taco shells 

How to Make Chili Seasoned Taco Meat

In a 12-inch non-stick skillet cook 2 lbs. of ground beef over medium heat until no pink remains, and the meat is broken into small pieces, about 1/4 inch in size. Then season the taco meat by adding in 3 Tbs Chugwater Chili Gourmet Chili Blend and 1/4 cup of water. Stir until meat is seasoned. Turn off the heat but keep the skillet on the burner to keep the meat warm while you assemble your crunchy tacos.

How to Create Crunchy Tacos

Once you have created the easy beef taco filling you will want to fill a hard taco shell with it. Then you want to add your toppings. This recipe is nice because you can create a taco bar type atmosphere and choose how you wish to assemble your tacos. Plus, your family can customize their own tacos

  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Salsa
  • Hot Sauce
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Diced Onion
  • Black Olives
  • Guacamole
  • Pico De Gallo
  • Toasted Corn
  • Diced Jalapeno
  • Lime Juice
  • Chopped Cilantro
  • Chugwater Chili Dip & Dressing Mix Seasoned Sour Cream

Recipe Notes:

  • If you prefer to use ground turkey for your tacos you can use it instead of beef. Then you can have a tasty ground turkey taco.
  • If you want more spice in your taco just add more chili seasoning.

Hi Sandra, I usually cook with 90/10 hamburger and find that is the perfect amount of fat and doesn’t require any draining, but it’s up to your personal preference.

With this receipe and others (chili, etc.) you never mention straining the hamburger meat prior to adding Chugwater Chili Mix. To clarify, does this mean the meat is not to be strained?
