How to Make a Chili Lime Marinade

Mix up a marinade for your chicken breasts. Marinades are a good way to let ingredient flavors soak into meat. For this recipe, take the minced garlic, lime juice, honey, lime zest, 2 Tablespoons of the Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blendand olive oil together in a small mixing bowl.

How to Marinate Chicken Breasts 

Place the chicken breasts in either a large bowl or freezer bag. Either method works it just depends on if you want to wash an extra dish or not. Pour marinade onto chicken breasts. Make sure all the chicken breasts are covered in marinade. Marinate for at least 30 minutes ( an hour would be best to get the flavors soaked into the meat).

Preparing Chicken Breasts for Baking 

After you have marinated your chicken for at least 30 minutes, it is time to bake it. Place the chicken in a baking pan or on a cookie sheet. Take the remaining Chugwater Chili Seasoning and coat the chicken breasts with it. If you want to garnish the tops with lime slices you can do that too.

How to Bake Chicken Breasts 

You will now bake the chicken uncovered in the oven for 30 minutes or until fully cooked. Broil for 5 minutes to get the tops golden. To check to see if it is cooked you can use a thermometer or slice into the chicken to make sure it is cooked.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Cup Lime Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Zest
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 4 Tablespoons Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Instructions:

  1. Mix up a marinade for your chicken breasts. Take the minced garlic, lime juice, honey, lime zest, 2 Tablespoons of the Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend and olive oil together in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in either a large bowl or Ziplock bag. Pour marinade onto chicken breasts. Make sure all the chicken breasts are covered in marinade. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
  4. When the chicken breasts are done marinating, place them in a baking pan or on a cookie sheet. Coat the chicken breasts with the remaining Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend.
  5. Bake the chicken breasts for 30 minutes. Broil for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
