This easy beer chili recipe is easy, customizable and the perfect dinner treat. Using our chili seasoning this new spin on our Signature Chugwater Chili recipe is perfect if you want to mix things up using your favorite can of beer and try a new easy chili recipe.
Whenever we have a kitchen question, we are lucky enough to know an expert. Chef Mike Beadles of Tampa, Florida has been cooking professionally for more than 20 years and is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He likes how the masa and brown sugar balance the heat of the spices in our Chugwater Chili Gourmet Chili Blend. He also says it is a good rub for a meat that has to be slow cooked like a brisket.
This recipe was developed using some of his guidance.
Chili is an easy dish to make to keep you warm in the winter months. There are times when making the same chili recipe over and over can get repetitive. That is why we like finding new chili recipes using our gourmet chili seasoning. This chili recipe using a can of beer gives the chili the unique taste that can be enjoyed by many.
How to Make Beer Chili
Heat 2 tsp oil in a large pot. Saute 1 small chopped onion, 2 pressed garlic cloves, and 1 chopped green bell pepper until you can smell the flavors of the garlic and onion cooking together.
Now add in 3 Tbs Chugwater Chili Gourmet Chili Blend with the onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Make sure your mix the seasoning into the other ingredients. Heat the mixture for a few seconds to toast the seasonings and infuse the flavors.
Add in 2 lbs of ground beef and stir until the ground beef is browned. As the meat brown make sure that you chop it into small pieces.
Now is time to add in your favorite can of beer. Pick a beer that you like. The liquid reduces during simmering time, and the chili is flavored with sugars and malt. The sugars don't add sweetness but add the taste of hops, roasted malt, and wild yeast to your chili.
Next add in a can of tomatoes, diced or crushed. If you do not want chunks of tomatoes in your chili you can add in a can of tomato sauce instead. Let the beer chili simmer for about 20 minutes.

- Chopped or diced onion
- Dollop of sour cream

- Add a can of tomatoes, diced or crushed. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
